Who doesn’t use Instagram these days? Every friend of mine to my 65-year-old grandma has an Instagram account. Whether you are just a user, running an art page, a small business, or an influencer on Instagram, you need to ask yourself this question: What are you doing differently?
Are you optimizing all the features and tools that Instagram has to offer to you? Yes, we all know about certain Instagram updates like the change in its logo or the new app layout. But there are so many more updates, features, and tools that we don't often hear about!
Don’t worry! Here's a list of hacks and tricks that will up your game and get you ‘gramming like a pro!
HACK#1: Add your own fonts on Instagram!
Getting different fonts on your IG is not difficult at all. Just follow these steps.
Use any fonts tool online. (igfonts.io is the one that I use often).
Type your text in any font you want.
Copy-paste it on your story!
Yes I know, you might be wondering why go through so much effort just for an Instagram story! But using fonts that complement your stories will give it a more aesthetic look and hence more user engagement.
HACK#2: Choose to keep or remove your tag from a post.
Ugh, ever had your friends tag you in embarrassing pictures of you? Here’s the way to remove it. The world never has to know!
Go to your profile page.
Click the “Photos of you” option.
Click on the post you wish to remove.
Click the “Three dots” option and select “Tag Options”
You can either “Remove me from the post” or “Hide from my profile”
HACK#3: Get all your liked posts in one place.
Remember when you saw that trending transition on your feed and liked it? Now that you want to show it to your friend, you cannot find it anywhere!
Instagram comes to the rescue, yet again!
Go to your profile page.
Click on “Settings”
Choose “Account”
And there it is, “Posts You’ve Liked”.
HACK#4: Create standard replies by using shortcuts.
Are you tired of replying to the same questions in your DMs? Or writing “Thank You” to every comment on your post? Use this hack to make your life much easier and more time-efficient!
Open your Phone Settings.
Go to “Keyboard”
Click on “Text Replacement”
Click the “Plus” symbol.
Add the “Phrase” and the “Shortcut” in the given space.
Hit Save.
You’re all set to use this shortcut. Whenever you type the shortcut, your phone will automatically write up the response for you. This will save you a lot of time!
HACK#5: Know when to stop. Set a daily reminder.
Just because you have a business account doesn’t mean you can scroll forever! Instagram has a daily timer tool to help you take a break and rest your eyes. Everyone needs to do this NOW!
Go to your profile page.
Click on the “three lines” on the top right corner.
Click on “Your Activity”.
Choose the “Time” option.
And there it is, “Set daily reminder”.
The “Your Activity” option also gives you a daily average time that you have spent per day using Instagram. If you see the number go up, it’s time for you to set a daily reminder!

Keep updating the application: Every update comes up with new tools and features that you can use to your own leverage.
Switch to a Professional Business Account: By doing this, you are unlocking more features and tools. Plus, you get access to better analytics and you can easily track your reach.
Follow the trends: Watch what others are doing! You don’t have to do exactly what they are doing, add your twist to it! That is what will make you different.
